DO I HAVE TO RENEW MY “ITIN” ?

Under the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act,  ITINs that have not been used on a federal tax return at least once in the last 3 consecutive years and those issued before 2013 will expire.

The following  ITINs have expired based on the middle 2 digits:

Year 2016:  78, 79

Year 2017:  70, 71, 72,  and 80

Year 2018:  73, 74, 75, 76, 77, 81 and 82

Year 2019:  83, 84, 85, 86 and 87

Year 2020:  88, 90, 91, 92, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99
